Victor Preisser
Chairman of the Board
Brings extensive experience in business operations and exit strategies. As CEO of FindLaw he negotiated the sale of the company to West Legal and Technical Publishing. Mr. Preisser has served as a senior executive in large companies (Litton, NorthWest Industries, IBP), small (FindLaw, Networked Picture Systems), government (Cabinet level positions, Iowa), and Academia (Resident Professor of Management, University Of The Pacific, Adjunct Professor at Iowa State Univ., Univ. of CA-ext., Golden Gate Univ. and Stanford). As a Partner in the Williams Group, Mr. Preisser authored "Peparing Heirs" and currently applies his 40 years of experience to family ownership transition issues, focusing upon the development of career paths for family members/heirs. He has an MBA and a BS in Physical Sciences from Stanford University.
Erez Bustan
President, CEO and Founder
Started ALN at the end of 1996. Mr. Bustan was founder of the highly successful American Runner Attorney Service, a company serving law firms in Southern California. In the process of growing American Runner into a multi-million dollar business that served over 300 law firms as clients, Mr. Bustan was able to see first hand the market opportunity to create an electronic form database, as well as the tremendous potential of e-filing. Mr. Bustan subsequently sold American Runner to focus fully on ALN.
Eli Eisenberg
Acting CFO and Director
Has over 30 years of experience in the financial and business management of entrepreneurial companies. As founder and CEO of Straight Line Management™ he specializes in providing financial expertise and mentoring to high-potential early stage companies, helping them to increase profitability, secure funding, evaluate and capitalize on opportunities, streamline financial operations, and get the financial side of the business under control. Since launching his Straight Line Management consulting company in 1991, he has served as a trusted advisor to more than 60 early-stage companies, both traditional and web based, across a variety of industries including software and game companies, high and low tech manufacturing companies, wholesale distribution companies, product and services companies and non-profit organizations. Prior to starting Straight Line Management he served as Chief Financial Officer for three high technology companies, served in senior financial and operational management positions (including VP of Finance and VP of Operations) in several other high growth companies, and established, ran and sold his own successful consumer products company. He received an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1976 and became a CPA in California is 1978. He is also a Fellow of the Larta Institute, where he conducts workshops and mentoring sessions for entrepreneurs. Mr. Eisenberg has been with ALN since 2000.
Jeffrey Shopoff
Director
Is a Partner with the San Francisco based law firm of Shopoff & Cavallo. Mr. Shopoff has been practicing law since 1970, and has extensive trial experience in almost every type of commercial dispute in California State and Federal court. Mr. Shopoff specializes in resolving business disputes and is experienced in a wide area of corporate problems, and he has represented many closely held corporations. As an investor Mr. Shopoff has been involved with several venture capital firms and was one of the “angels” who backed the founders of Information Technology Ventures and Infinity Ventures. He is also an investor with Voyager Capital in Seattle and several individual companies. Mr. Shopoff has been an investor in American LegalNet since December, 2000.
Martin Milston
Director
He was a Partner in the Tax Advisory Services Group of the accounting firm of J.H. Cohn LLP from 1966 to 1996. He specialized in a number of areas, including advising on the formation of new businesses, financing, purchase and sale transactions, restructuring and succession issues of closely held corporations. Mr. Milston has served as an advisor or director to numerous privately owned businesses, including Amsterdam P&L, Heller Industries, Heydt Construction, Gomar Manufacturing Co. and Jason D. Carter & Associates. Since retiring, Mr. Milston has been active in managing money for a wealthy New York City family. This has included allocation of assets and making specific investments in a wide variety of early-stage companies with particular emphasis on early to mid-stage technology, including several start-up investments. In this capacity, he has served on boards of directors for 6 companies. .Mr. Milston received his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an LLB from the New York Law School
